Problem Statement
GhostMannequinService was experiencing high bounce rates from mobile paid ad campaigns due to heavy render-blocking assets, oversized hero banners, and unoptimized quote calculation scripts. Initial mobile performance diagnostics revealed a Google PageSpeed score of 48/100 and an LCP exceeding 4.2 seconds.
Engineering Remediation Protocol
Our senior WordPress performance engineers executed a surgical Core Web Vitals remediation:
- Critical CSS Extraction: Extracted above-the-fold styling directly into HTML head, deferring the primary 120KB stylesheet to eliminate render-blocking delay.
- Next-Gen Image Delivery: Converted all visual assets to AVIF and WebP formats with strict intrinsic width/height dimensions, eliminating Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).
- JavaScript Deferral: De-registered redundant legacy polyfills and deferred non-critical analytics and interactive specification tools until after primary DOM idle.
- Font Display Swap: Self-hosted typography with
font-display: swapand preloaded critical woff2 subsets to eliminate flash of invisible text (FOIT).
Benchmark Verification
- Mobile Google PageSpeed: Increased from 48 to 99/100.
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): Reduced from 4.2s to 0.92s.
- Total Blocking Time (TBT): Reduced from 840ms to 0ms.
- Mobile Inbound Lead Conversion Rate: Increased by 34{b5da737694223f607d0e549c21b15546c0760cb0ad3184bd878d13bcbf5bb084} within 30 days post-launch.
